Security beefed up across Uttar Pradesh

Security has been beefed up across Uttar Pradesh in view of Vijayadashmi, Dusherra and Eid-ul-Azha.
"As many as 78 companies of central paramilitary forces (CPMF) and 41 of provincial armed constabulary (PAC) are being deployed in districts to ensure peace and order during the festival season," IG (law and order) R K Vishkarma said here today.
Besides, the IG said, 82 officials of the rank of DySPs and additional SPs are being posted in various districts, specially the sensitive ones, with immediate effect for this period.
Stating that there would not be any let up in the deployment of CPMF in Muzaffarnagar, the IG said once the festival season is over these 78 companies would be diverted to Faizabad where the VHP would hold Sankalp Diwas on October 18 and to Kanpur where BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi would address a rally on October 19.
