Security has been strengthened in and around Chennai airport in the aftermath of heavily armed militants attacking the Jinnah International Airport at Karachi, police said today.
A special task force of 50 personnel have been pressed into round-the-clock duty to monitor movement of passengers both in domestic and international airports, they said.
The force would work in tandem with the already deployed CISF men and Tamil Nadu Police, they added.
Twenty-eight people, including the 10 terrorists, were killed in the attack, one of the most daring in recent years in the port city. Twenty-four people have also been injured.
