"To prevent any untoward incident from taking place tomorrow, various security measures have been put in place. Police have been directed to exercise precaution and are prepared to handle any situation," Deputy Commissioner of Police Jalandhar, Naresh Dogra said.
Surveillance has been stepped up and security checks are being carried out in malls, cinema halls, railways stations, bus stands and and various other places, he said.
People travelling to and from bus stands and railway stations will be screened through metal detectors, Dogra said, adding security arrangements at important buildings in the city have been increased.
