Select pulses weaken on fall in demand

Select pulses led by gram drifted down by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today owing to slackened demand from retailers.
However, peas edges up on scattered enquiries.
Traders said besides fall in demand from retailers, sufficient stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts, mainly pulled down gram and other pulses prices.
In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality fell by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,000-5,350, Rs 5,400-5,800 and Rs 5,800-5,900 per quintal respectively.
Kabuli gram small variety followed suit and lost Rs 200 to Rs 8,500-9,700 per quintal.
Arhar and its dal dara variety also drifted lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,950 and Rs 5,700-7,600 per quintal respectively.
Masoor small and bold shed Rs 50 each to Rs 3,500-3,600 and Rs 3,550-3,700 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,450-3,950 and Rs 3,550- 4,050 per quintal.
Malka local and best quality enquired lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,000-4,200 and Rs 4,100-4,400 per quintal.
In line with overall trend, urad and its dal chilka local too finished lower by Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 4,000- 5,650 and Rs 5,100-5,200 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya traded lower by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,200-5,700 and Rs 5,600-5,800 per quintal.
On the other hand, peas white and green went up by Rs 200 each to Rs 2,725-2,750 and Rs 2,775-2,875 per quintal respectively.

Masoor small Rs 3,500-3,600, bold Rs 3,550-3,700, Dal Masoor local Rs 3,450-3,950, best quality Rs 3,550-4,050, Malka local Rs 4,000-4,200, best Rs 4,100-4,400, Moth Rs 3,600-4,000, Arhar Rs 3,950 Dal Arhar Dara Rs 5,700-7,600.
