"Certain situations never change for a woman despite the apparent change in her status and social standing over the years. This is a universal truth," Srilekha told PTI on the sets of the film.
"Like in 'Ekdin Protidin' or Rituparno Ghosh's 'Dahan', it is the woman concerned, who faces the brunt of inquisitiveness and feels her situation has suddenly changed from one of regard, respect, love and affection to one of suspicion. The director has touched on the issue here too in a sensitive way," she said.
Director Raja Dasgupta said the film has similarities with Dahon where the issue of subtle shift and twist in relationships have come up.
"I would not be able to shoot three songs in middle east with budget for such films. But there are takers for such contents among Bengali audiences," he said.
