Miffed over denial of ticket to his son Mansoor Ali Khan for the assembly polls, Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha deputy chairman K Rahman Khan today vented his anger against party leadership.

Talking to PTI, Khan sought to know how other ministers' children got the ticket including chief minister Siddaramaiah's son Yathindra and Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy's daughter Sowmya Reddy whereas his son was denied a ticket.

"All the ministers' sons have got the ticket but why my son has been denied. Chief Minister's son was competent. Similarly, Sowmya Reddy (Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy's daughter) came into the party six months back," he said.

"My son had applied last time also, five years ago. Why that was not taken into consideration?," said an upset Khan.

He was also unhappy that the party did not show the courtesy to call him and tell him that issuing ticket to his son was not possible and he could have understood the difficulty of the party high command.

Khan rued that there was no proper consultation behind denying tickets.

"Generally, there is no proper consultation, certain seats have been denied. There is no reason for it. When they denied, they should give some reason," he said.

"They (high command) may be right but some decisions have been taken which I feel that somewhere senior people like us have been ignored," Khan said.

The congress leader said he would remain in the party and would bring to the notice of the party high command that certain things would weaken the party.

"It is not that everything should be left only to a few individuals in the party."
