Dr Yousuf was on his way to clinic when unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate firing on his car near DHQ Hospital Bannu of Khyber Pakthunkhwa.
As a result of firing Yousuf died on the spot.
Police has cordoned off the area and started collecting evidence from the crime scene.
Separately, law enforcement agencies arrested three terrorists during raids in Dera Ismail Khan District bordering South Waziristan Agency.
Police spokesman said that all the suspects were hiding in Shaheed Abad, Dera Ismail Khan, to carryout some terrorist activity as all of them were affiliated to a banned outfit.
The accused were involved in terror activities and extortion collection, the spokesman added.
