Senior J-K officer found dead at official residence

A senior Jammu and Kashmir government officer was today found dead at his official residence here, police said.
Rakesh Gupta, Special Secretary, Science and Technology Department, was found dead at his official residence at TRC crossing this morning, police said.
Gupta, a Kashmir Administrative Officer (KAS) hailing from Jammu region, was alone at his residence and found lying dead on his bed, they said.
There were no injury marks on the body and apparently the officer had died of cardiac arrest, the police said quoting the preliminary investigations.
Inquest proceedings have been initiated to ascertain the cause of Gupta's death and his body has been sent for postmortem, they said.
