Set Indo-Pak dialogue process in motion: CPI (M)

Jammu and Kashmir unit of CPI (M) today called for setting the dialogue process between India and Pakistan in motion, saying the recent diplomatic break off was a "blow" to the peace process between the two countries.
"The recent diplomatic break off between India and Pakistan is a blow to the peace process aimed at normalisation of relations between the two neighbouring countries," state secretary CPI (M), M Y Tarigami said addressing a rally at Mantribugh in Shopian district.
Tarigami said the skirmishes on the Line of Control (LoC) was "most unfortunate" and urged the leadership in both the countries to play their role in cessation of hostilities along the LoC and border.

"The skirmishes on the LoC in terms of ceasefire violations is most unfortunate and a step backwards in the context of the growing public urge for peace and tranquillity in the region," he said, adding the dialogue process should not be held hostage to the domestic considerations in the two neighbouring countries.
The CPI (M) leader said the recent diplomatic deadlock needs to be reviewed and channels of communication be opened for peace and amity in the region.
"Let India and Pakistan fight their greater internal enemies - poverty, corruption, diseases, natural disasters and sectarian violence jointly rather than aim their guns at each other," he said.

Tarigami said the people of Kashmir were "forced to bear the brunt" of disruptions in Indo-Pak dialogue.
"It is the time that both the governments should realise urgency of this commitment and make serious efforts to move forward and revamp the stalled peace process," he said, adding the real strength of the two nations lies in pursuing the process of dialogue.
