Several people from various walks of life took out a rally here today to protest against recent incidents of child abuse and rape of minors in the country.
The rally, organised by National Integration Forum of India (NIFI), started from Nandan complex and ended at St. Paul's Cathedral.
Veteran chess player Grand Master Dibyendu Barua, ace tennis player Akhtar Ali, singer Soumitra Roy were among the participants.
NIFI General Secretary Bulu Roy Chaudhuri said, "This rally is not solely to voice our protest against any single, stray incident. It is against the alarming rise of several incidents of child abuse and rape all over the country."
