"The meeting was convened hurriedly. Pawarsaheb was in Mumbai and called us for a cup of tea and to take stock of the situation in our constituencies," Tribal Affairs Minister Madhukar Pichad told PTI.
Only those who were in Mumbai like R R Patil, Chhagan Bhujbal, Vijaysinh Mohite Patil, Anil Deshmukh, Hassan Mushriff attended the meeting, Pichad said.
"All those present at the meeting, expressed confidence of doing well in the election from our respective constituencies," Pichad said.
Sources said Pawar told party leaders to begin preparations for the Assembly polls scheduled later this year and also expressed concerns over the "declining fortunes" of Congress.
Bhujbal contested Nashik and Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil contested from Maadha. NCP contested 21 of the 48 seats during the recent Lok Sabha polls in the state.
