'Sherlock' star Cumberbatch to have wax statue at the Tussauds

Benedict Cumberbatch, best known for playing detective Sherlock Holmes in crime series 'Sherlock', is getting a wax statue at Madamme Tussauds.
The 38-year-old actor finds the honour a wonderful compliment and also joked that he had been called a wooden actor but never waxy, reported The Daily Star.
"What a weird and wonderful compliment to be included in the ranks of talent already committed to wax. I've been accused of being wooden in my work but never waxy," he said.
"It's an extraordinary experience. Also my agents will be thrilled, they've wanted a clone of me for some time," Cumberbatch said.

The figure will be placed in the A-list section of the attraction alongside figures such as Judi Dench, Kate Winslet, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp. It will be dressed for the red carpet in a stylish dark suit.
The star said it is a privilege to get measurements done for the statue.

"The main privilege for me was the process and seeing the amount of exacting work and skill brought to every detail of this art form."
"Our guests made it very clear they wanted to see him in the attraction, and we can't wait for them to meet his figure later this year," said Ben Sweet, general manager at Madame Tussauds London.

The actor, who famously 'photobombed' many stars at the Oscars earlier this year, joked that he would now have his own 'photobomb'.
"Finally, I can photobomb myself," he said.
