SHO Naresh Kumar, two constables and a head constable, who were allegedly involved in extorting the amount, have been sent to the district police line and investigation is on, Milind Dumbere, DCP (northwest) said.
The action was taken after Dumbere received a complaint from a woman, who alleged that on November 14 she informed police about a scrap dealer who was hiding Rs 1 crore inside his home after finding a bag containing it, police said.
Rs 1 lakh was given to the scrap dealer to leave the city and he left for West Bengal, his native place, police said.
The woman made a PCR call after which she was detained and taken to Jahangirpuri Police Station where she was allegedly threatened by the SHO who asked her to withdraw the complaint.
