Siblings arrested for credit card fraud

A man and his sister have been arrested for allegedly running a credit card fraud racket and they were found to be in possession data about over 2 lakh SBI customers, police said today.
Ajay Kumar and Kavita were arrested from Uttam Nagar.
They were arrested in a case of credit card fraud registered At Prashant Vihar police station, said Vikramjeet Singh, DCP (Outer).
The complainant was lured into sharing his credit card details by the accused who called him posing as SBI officials asking him to invest in lucrative schemes.
Online shopping worth over the Rs one lakh was done through his card details by the accused in August month.
"SBI's data of around 2 lakh customers have been found with the accused persons. Other gang members are yet to be arrested. Involvement of some internal link from SBI is also being verified," said the officer.
They used to call almost three to four hundred persons a day.
After procuring the OTP they used to get the registered mobile number of the customer changed to one which they had procured on fake IDs. They then used to do online shopping from various popular e-commerce portals.
The goods bought by them were later sold on another web portal, he added.
