Sikh bodies demand ban on screening of 'MSG' in JK

As the controversial film 'MSG' starring Dera Sacha Sauda chief today hit the screens, several Sikh organisations held a protest here demanding an immediate ban on its screening.
The protesters gathered on the Jammu-Pathankot Highway and raised slogans against the controversial film and asked the authorities to impose a ban on its screening in Jammu and Kashmir.
"This movie and the man behind it have always tried to hurt the religious sentiments of other communities, especially the Sikhs," Preetam Singh, a protester said.
He claimed that the movie would create a law and order problem in the state as various Sikh organisations would intensify their protests in the coming days.

"The movie is bound to create law and order problem in the state. Keeping in view that the state of Jammu and Kashmir is very sensitive, authorities must immediately ban the movie here," he said.
The protesters said that they would soon handover a memorandum to Governor N N Vohra, seeking his intervention in the matter.

The protesters said that the Jammu and Kashmir government should follow the decision of Punjab government, which banned the movie in the state.
"The man who is facing several criminal cases, including rape and murder, can never be the Messenger of God. The movie is just a propaganda aimed at influencing the outcome of criminal cases against him," said Jasdeep Singh, another protestor.

'MSG' has been embroiled in controversy as its release was delayed earlier after the Censor Board refused to pass it.
