Silver falls by 0.3% on global cues

Speculators engaged in trimming positions against the backdrop of weak global trends

Silver prices fell by 0.29% to Rs 37,880 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in trimming positions against the backdrop of weak global trends.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May traded lower by Rs 111, or 0.29%, to Rs 37,880 per kg in a business turnover of 217 lots.

In the international market, silver traded 0.2% lower at $16.93 an ounce.

Market analysts said a weak trend in precious metals in global markets weighed on silver prices in futures trade here.
