Silver futures fall on weak overseas cues
Speculators trimmed their exposure amid a weak trend in global markets
Press Trust of India New Delhi Silver prices fell by Rs 22 to Rs 41,497 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their exposure amid a weak trend in global markets.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July was trading lower by Rs 22 or 0.05% to Rs 41,497 per kg in a business turnover of 674 lots.
The metal for delivery in far-month September fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 42,244 per kg in 20 lots.
In the international market, silver fell 0.34% to $17.35 an ounce in New York yesterday.
Traders attributed the fall in silver in futures trade to a weak trajectory in global markets and emergence of profit-booking by speculators at prevailing levels.
