Leading single brand retailers hailed the government's move to ease local sourcing norms and allow online sales, saying it is an encouraging step to attract investments in the sector.
The government on Wednesday expanded the definition of mandatory 30 per cent domestic sourcing norm. It also allowed single brand retailers to start online sales, waiving the previous condition of setting up a mandatory brick-and-mortar store.
