BJP-Sena MPs retain seats, win with bigger margins this time

Gopinath Munde retained his Beed seat polling 6,35,995 votes and winning by a margin of over 1.36 lakh votes

A dozen of Shiv Sena-BJP MPs have retained their seats in Maharashtra, polling more votes than in 2009 and winning by bigger margins.

Only Anant Gite, former Union Minister, had a tough time retaining his Raigad seat in Konkan region. Gite defeated NCP's Sunil Tatkare, a minister in Maharashtra, by a slender margin of 2,110 votes. In 2009, Gite had trounced A R Antulay of Congress by more than two lakh votes.

A T Patil of BJP polled 6,47,773 votes against 3,43,647 votes in 2009 in Jalgaon. He won by a margin of over 3.83 lakh votes over his nearest rival, Satish Patil of NCP.

Prataprao Jadhav of Shiv Sena defeated his NCP rival Krushnarao Ingle by over 1.59 lakh votes in Buldhana.

Sanjay Dhotre of BJP won by a margin of over 2.03 lakh votes over his Congress rival in Akola.

Anandrao Adsul of Shiv Sena won by a margin of 1.37 lakh votes in Amravati. Hansraj Ahir of BJP retained his Chandrapur seat with a margin of over 2.36 lakh votes.

Bhavana Gawli of Shiv Sena retained her Yavatmal seat, winning with a margin of over 93,000 votes.

Raosaheb Danve of BJP polled 5,91,428 votes in Jalna winning by a margin of over 2.06 lakh votes.

In Aurangabad, Chandrakant Khaire of Shiv Sena retained his seat, winning by a margin of 1.62 lakh votes. Harishchandra Chavan of BJP won his Dindori seat with a margin of over 2.47 lakh votes.

In Shirur, Shivaji Adhalrao-Patil of Shiv Sena polled 6,43,415 votes and won with a margin of over 3.01 lakh votes.

Dilip Gandhi of BJP polled 6,05,185 votes retaining Ahmednagar seat with a margin of over 2.09 lakh votes.
