Six boys escape from Bhiwandi remand home

Six minors lodged in the Bhiwandi Remand Home escaped on Thursday afternoon, a Shanti Nagar police official said here today.
Senior police inspector R D Shinde of the Shanti Nagar police station told PTI that minors aged between 14 years and 16 years were lodged in the remand home for crimes relating to housebreaking and theft in Ambernath, Mumbra as well as Dombivili.
Yesterday afternoon, they bent the iron rods of their rooms and escaped, according to a complaint lodged with the police.
Offences have been registered against them under Section 224 of the Indian Penal Code and a hunt is on for them, the police official said.
None of the six who escaped have been traced so far, the police official said.
