Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma today said slack and decline in revenue collection will not be tolerated.
She directed the commercial department in the context of registered dealers selling goods to unregistered dealers, to issue demand notices to dealers selling goods to unregistered dealers and apprise the regional officials concerned about the draft of the demand notice, an official release said here.
Action should be initiated against the defaulters 15 days after the demand notice was issued, Verma said asking to target big defaulters first, as such a move would help aware them to clear the dues.
She also asked to review those registered dealers, who have sold more goods to unregistered dealers.
The Chief Secretary directed the commercial tax department officials to list pending case in the court of Joint Commercial Taxes and monitor to ensure them for early disposal, the release said.
Commercial tax related cases worth Rs 1,000 crore were pending in the state, she said while the Joint Commercial Tax Commissioner would inspect circle wise to target 35 per cent increase in the revenue target.
Verma directed the officials to frame clear cut guidelines in regard with demand notice related to C form and incorporate interest against those traders submitting C forms late.
She also directed officials to conduct weekly inspection of check posts under their respective jurisdiction to ensure cent percent entry of vehicles passing through them and registered FIR against 96 brokers active at the check posts, the release added.
