A total of 311 pilgrims, including 203 men, 73 women and 35 'sadhus', left in a cavalcade of nine vehicles from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu for the twin base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal in Kashmir, a police officer said.
This was the smallest batch of pilgrims to leave for the Amarnath cave shrine ever since the Yatra started on July 2, the officer said.
Yesterday, 1,528 pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave. Till date 2,11,707 pilgrims have paid obeisance at the Amarnath cave shrine.
