It was a partially cloudy day in Delhi, which was lashed by showers yesterday, with a pale sun coming out in the later part of the day.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 17.7 degrees Celsius, six notches below normal while the minimum settled at 9.2 degrees, two notches below normal.
However, wet weather prevailed up north in Jammu and Kashmir where amidst widespread rainfall, the tourist resort town of Pahalgam received 4.8cm of fresh snow.
The summer capital of Srinagar recorded a low of 0.6 degrees even as the city received 0.5mm rainfall.
Kargil in Ladakh region, recorded the coldest temperature in the state at -13.8 degrees while the nearby Leh registered a minimum of -6.9 degrees after being hit with 0.1 cm of fresh snowfall.
Icy winds swept Uttarakhand today as the chill intensified in the state amidst snowfall in the higher districts and moderate showers elsewhere.
The hill districts of received snowfall for the second straight day as fresh deposits blocked nearly half-a-dozen roads, including the Joshimath-Auli and Mandal-Chopta routes in Chamoli district and Rishikesh-Yamunotri and Rishikesh- Gangotri highways in Uttarkashi.
Punjab and Haryana were, meanwhile, lashed by showers for the second day today with heavy rainfall of 18.9mm being reported in the Union Territory and common capital of Chandigarh till early this morning.
Ambala in Haryana got 15.8mm rainfall while Karnal witnessed showers measuring 15.6mm.
In Punjab, Ludhiana recorded a minimum of 10 degrees under wet conditions while Patiala registered 23.9mm rainfall and saw the mercury settle at 10.5 degrees.
