Soaring temperatures in UP, Banda hottest at 47.2 degrees

Temperatures continued to soar in Uttar Pradesh with mercury level crossing 47 degrees in Banda, which was hottest.
According to MeT department, weather was dry over the state as day temperatures rose appreciably in Meerut division.
Temperatures also registered an increase in Kanpur and Agra divisions, but fell in Gorakhpur and Faizabad divisions and changed little in the remaining divisions of the state.
The highest maximum temperature of 47.2 degrees Celsius in the state was recorded at Banda.
According to the forecast, rains and thunderstorms are very likely at isolated places over the state.
