The contingent, which includes athletes, coaches and staff, has participants from 21 states of the country.
68 athletes and 15 coaches along with 7 assistant staff left for the games today.
India will be competing in eight out of nine disciplines, namely athletics, aquatics, badminton, baseball, bocce, bowling, cricket, football and table tennis.
Santosh Kumar from Special Olympics Bharat will carry the torch for the Relay.
"I'm very proud of sending 400 athletes, 100 coaches and 20 resource persons to Newcastle, Australia for the Asia Pacific Regional Games. I am happy to mention that we've raised the funds, for attending the games, from people of the 21 participating states," said Air Marshal (Retd) Denzil Keelor.
