Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik today said he shares "good relations" with state Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, but this is not liked by "some people".
Maintaining that he wants development of Uttar Pradesh, Naik told reporters here "power and law and order situation is looking up" in the country's most populous state.
To a question on UP Minister Azam Khan complaining to the President about he being "overactive" as Governor and making "politically motivated" statements, Naik avoided a direct reply but said he has "good relations" with Yadav.
"Some people don't like this," he said, without naming anyone.
Asked about some Mumbai-related issues, Naik opposed construction of a Metro Rail carshed in Aarey Colony, which has dense tree-cover.
The former Mumbai MP said he had requested Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to protect the financial capital's green cover at any cost.
Naik said he had also asked Fadnavis to ensure proper rehabilitation of Tarapore atomic power project-affected people and welfare of leprosy patients.
The Governor said he had asked elected representatives from Mumbai to follow up on issues related to the metropolis so that he can concentrate on matters in Uttar Pradesh.
