"The freedom movement under the leader of Mahatma Gandhi was not racial, but now a section of political parties is involved in racial politics. We are, however, free from such politics," Gogoi said after unveiling statues of three martyrs of Quit India Movement from Dhekiajuli.
The Chief Minister claimed that the contribution of people residing in villages was more than town people during the Freedom Struggle.
The three life-size statues of Quite India movement martyrs he unveiled were Manbor Nath, Kumali Devi and Khahula Devi at Ghotoa Namghar under Dhekiajuli revenue circle in Somitpur district.
