Some schemes of Water Resources slow: Uma Bharati

Expressing concern over the slow progress of some schemes, Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati today askede her ministry officials to complete all them in a time-bound manner.
Addressing a meeting of senior officials of her Ministry here, Bharati expressed concern over slow progress of some schemes of the ministry and she will review the progress of all the schemes with the officials on a weekly basis, a press release added.
Bharati said some states were implementing the schemes of her Ministry in a proper manner while others were lagging behind. The Minister said she will talk to Chief Ministers of concerned states to sort out the problems, if required.

"The Ministry needs to give more attention to two of its major schemes such as Mission Ganga and Inter-linking of rivers," she said.
Underlining the importance of flood forecasting, the Minister said the Ministry has to give more attention in this regard.
