SP Govt utilising money for welfare of people: Shivpal

In a veiled attack on BSP, Uttar Pradesh PWD minister Shivpal Yadav today said the Samajwadi Party government in the state was utilising money for the welfare of people and not "wasting" it in the construction of "statues and memorials".
"We are utilising the money for the welfare of people and not using it in the construction of statues and memorials. There should not be any dishonesty in using the money alloted in the budget," Yadav, who was here to distribute laptops among the students, told reporters here.
Assuring students, he said with the help of laptops, students will learn a lot and know about the developments made in our country and other countries.

"We had purchased the laptops at a rate of Rs 19,000 and fulfilled our promises made in election manifesto," the minister claimed.
More than 4,000 laptops were distributed today.
