Union Minister Uma Bharti today urged parents to spend their resources on their daughters' education instead of dowry.
This will boost the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao programme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015, she said while speaking at the 'Global Gita Chanting Programme' organised as a part of the International Gita Mahotsav here.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who was presiding over the programme, said that the 'Shalokas' recited by 18,016 students during the programme will show a new path to the entire world.
The chief minister said that 25 lakh people have so far visited the Mahotsav.
