Acting on specific information, the police intercepted one Ganesh Kumar at new bus stand in Samba and recovered 46 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession, a police officer said.
A case was registered against Kumar and further investigation initiated, he said.
The official claimed that they had received reports earlier also about the SPO selling illicit liquor after which he was put under surveillance.
The police also claimed to have arrested an alleged thief and recovered 10 boxes of dry fruits valuing Rs 96,000, which were stolen from a shop at Chak Manga Rakwal in the Samba district, he said.
