At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustardseed for delivery in October climbed Rs 88, or 1.84 per cent, to Rs 4,872 per quintal, having an open interest of 9,540 lots.
Also, the commodity for delivery in November dipped Rs 77, or 1.57 per cent, to Rs 4,994 per quintal, in an open interest of 67,820 lots.
Marketmen said strong demand of oil mills driven by ongoing festive season along with thin supplies from growing belts in spot markets, mainly brought the surge in prices.
