Acting on specific intel, Sashastra Seema Bal jawans, with the help of the police, nabbed one person from the Balai village border outpost area last night, Shailendra Pandey, Deputy Commandant of the 42nd Battalion of SSB, said.
Nearly 144 gms of morphine, worth over Rs 1.44 crore in the international market, was found in his possession, Pandey said.
The smuggler has been identified as Kasim, from Barabanki district, who had set out to deliver the consignment, the deputy commandant said, adding that a case has been registered and the accused was being interrogated.
