Johar, 40, who is behind many star-studded hits like "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham", "My Name is Khan" among others, said we are heading towards a golden era with strong performance-oriented films.
"With films like 'Gangs of Wasseypur', 'Vicky Donor' and 'Shanghai' doing well at the box-office, it seems that the star system in Bollywood will come to a screeching halt. Small budget films like 'Vicky Donor' and 'Kahaani' had a better screen play and profit than any other star's film.
Johar alongwith Dibakar Banerjee and Zoya Akhtar also promoted their upcoming Indian anthology film "Bombay Talkies" here. Anurag Kashyap was not present at the event.
"Bombay Talkies" will have a gala screening at the 66th Cannes Film Festival, where India is the guest country this year.
