Besides, the company, which is aiming to expand its presence in gulf and Afirca, is also planning to introduce some of the leading international helmet brands into the Indian market through brand licensing next fiscal.
"Globally, we plan to increase presence in South Asian countries, Gulf and Africa as these are emerging markets with lot of potential for helmets with reference to its standards," Steelbird Hi-Tech India Global Group Head - Sales & Marketing Shailendra Jain said.
It has a pan India presence with over 2,000 dealers and 10,000 retailers.
"Tier 2 and tier 3 cities are the main focus areas for complete coverage and growth in India," he said.
In the domestic helmet market, where the company is presently having around 38 per cent market share, would focus on providing qualitative products.
"Looking at the current statics, over 75 to 80 per cent of helmets used by two-wheeler riders across India either do not meet ISI standards and is flooded with sub-standard products that compromise on safety. The estimated demand for helmets is around 100 million pieces per annum. We want to fill in this gap," he said.
Moreover, the company, which has brand as like Steelbird Helmets, Steelbird Air and Ares Brands, is mulling to introduce some global brands in the Indian markets.
"Steelbird is also mulling the option to bring few international brands to Indian market under brand licensing route in next fiscal," Jain said.
Presently Steelbird boasts of approx over 52 models under Steelbird Group and each model has approximately over 20 variants.
The company has three plants with a manufacturing capacity of 18,000 helmets per day.
