'Stranger Things', 'Westworld' win big at Creative Arts Emmys

At the second-night of this year's Creative Arts Emmy Awards, shows such as "Stranger Things" and "Westworld" ruled the roost with five awards each.
"Westworld" took home the honours for visual effects, sound mixing, interactive programming, hairstyling and makeup, while "Stranger Things" won in the categories of main title theme music, original main title theme music, main title design, casting for a drama series, single-camera picture editing for a drama series and sound editing.
Gerald McRaney received the best drama guest actor trophy for his role of Dr Nathan Katowski on "This Is Us".
In his acceptance speech, the actor thanked, "Dan Fogelman for writing such beautiful show, Ken Olin for directing the episode of which I was nominated and the entire cast of this show who in so many ways make me better, especially Milo (Ventimiglia) and Mandy (Moore) who are simultaneously my colleagues and my masters."

The Creative Arts Emmy for guest drama actress was bagged by Alexis Bledel for dystopian drama "The Handmaid's Tale", who paid her tributes to her castmates Elisabeth Moss, Ann Dowd and the writer of the show, Bruce Miller.
In a backstage conversation, the actor who plays Ofglen on the Hulu series, said, "It's really an incredible thing when we are sparking conversation and it's thought-provoking to stand out in this way."

"Saturday Night Live" hosts Dave Chappelle and Melissa McCarthy received the recognition for outstanding performance in guest actor male and female, respectively.
Chappelle's trophy was received by Bledel and Dowd on his behalf.

The actor, who is popular for her act as the former White House press secretary, scored her second Emmy, after winning the title in 2011 for "Mike and Molly".
McCarthy, too did not attend the ceremony. Her award was received by actors James Ritter and James Wolk.
HBO series "Big Little Lies" won the Emmys in three categories - casting for a limited series and contemporary costumes, along with the first-ever music supervision award.
Netflix's "The Crown" bagged two honours for production design and period-drama costumes.
On day one of the ceremony, filmmaker Ava DuVernay, TV host James Corden and writer Samantha Bee were among the winners.

The main Emmy Awards ceremony will air on September 17, with Stephen Colbert as host.
