Students denied admission by schools to get seats: Haryana

Following reports that 19 schools here had denied admission to BPL students, Haryana Education Minister Rambilas Sharma today directed these institutions to admit them within a week.
He said they will be given admission under rule 134 A of Haryana Education Rules.
"We have asked the Assistant Director of the State Education Department to look in the matter. Fresh guidelines have been issued to all state schools to give admission to BPL students under rule 134 A. Till now, 40,000 students have been given admission under this section," he said.
Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner T L Satyapraksh has sought a report from the schools which were reportedly found by the Elementary Education Department denying admission to the BPL students, Sharma said.
"Students will be given admission in these schools on residential criteria basis," he added.
Block elementary education officer Sushil Gaur, who is also the nodal officer for monitoring private schools during admissions, said, "We have received complaints from parents about these 19 schools which denied admission and three of those have given clarification so far."
The elementary education department has also sought a status reports on how many BPL students have given admission by each of these schools in the current session under rule 134 A.
