The District Superintendent of Education, Indrabhusan, said about 25 students of the school in Laxminagar were being rushed to M G M Hospital due to food poisoning.
But a parent of a student, Upendra who was accompanying his ward to the hospital claimed that 60 to 70 students were being rushed to the hospital after a student started vomiting soon after consuming the mid-day meal.
He said that panic struck the students after a lizard was allegedly found in the meal served by the central kitchen in Ranikudar.
Most of the parents rushed their wards to the hospital in panic, he claimed.
