Ladu Singh, SHO of Jaswantgarh police station, was injured last night when some persons sitting in a Bolero opened fire at the jeep, while he was on patrolling duty with three other policemen, Narottam Lal Meena, Circle officer of Ladnu, said.
Police suspect that Anandpal Singh, carrying a reward of Rs one lakh and wanted in many cases, might have opened fire from the vehicle, as the incident took place near his house in Saanvrad village.
"The border of the village has been sealed and an intense combing operation is on in the area," the Circle Officer said.
AnandpalSingh had escaped from police custody in September last year while being taken to Ajmer prison from a court in Parbatsar in Nagaur.

Singh, uncle of Anandpal Singh, has been arrested after initial interrogation as he was facilitating the miscreants who opened fire at the police jeep.
"We are verifying who were inside the vehicle. It is suspected that Anandpal Singh and his brother, who is also an absconding criminal, were there in the Bolero," the IG said.
Other family members of Anandpal Singh are also being interrogated.
