Sugar prices rule steady in mute trade

Both the varieties of sugar prices ruled steady at the Vashi wholesale market here today following lack of worthwhile demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Both Small Sugar (S-30) and Medium Sugar (M-30) closed at its last Saturday's closing level of Rs 3,040/3,140 per quintal and Rs 3,100/3,290 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets: Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,040/3,140 (Rs 3,040/3,140).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,100/3,290 (Rs 3,100/3,290).
