Germany can attract talented Indian students through special scholarships so that they could continue their higher studies to contribute to the world's progress, founder of Super 30 academy Anand Kumar said.
"There is no dearth of talent in India. What is important is to ensure that all get equal and proper opportunity to excel in their chosen fields. Lack of opportunities is what makes them suffer," Kumar said at a function to honour him by German state of Saxony.
Eva-Maria Stange, Minister of State for higher education and research, honoured Kumar for his commendable work.
Kumar said that like Japan, Germany should also think of attracting Indian talent through special scholarship so that they could continue their higher studies to contribute to the world's progress in more ways than one.
"Today, a large part of the world is affected by recession. If there is one thing that is still produced in large numbers to cater to the growing demand is automobiles and in automobile engineering has few peers," he added.
"With huge scope for automobile engineering, Germany should do something for talented students from underprivileged sections of the society in India and train them for it, he said.
The German minister and the professors discussed ways of roping in more and more students from India to Germany for opportunities in technical education.
Established in 2002 in Patna, over 390 students from the underprivileged sections of the society have qualified in premier engineering institutions IITs so far.
