"She has been discharged with advice to continue medication and come for rehabilitation on an outpatient basis. We expect her to get back within a month's time from now," BGS Global Hospitals Chief Neurosurgeon and vice-chairman Dr N K Venkataramana told reporters here.
On November 19, 38-year-old Jyothi Uday, an officer with the Corporation Bank, was attacked with a machete inside the ATM kiosk and the gory act was caught on CCTV footage, sparking a national outrage.
She claimed the police could have swung into action earlier because delay causes thin chances of nabbing the assailant.
Recollecting the incident, Jyothi said, on the fateful day she had gone to withdraw money from the ATM for her daughter's fee when a man barged into the kiosk and pulled the shutter down. The accused allegedly slit her neck with a sickle, which left her unconscious and bleeding for nearly three hours.
