"Although it's an internal matter of the JD(U)...The hurried manner in which Kumar got himself elected as its president by forcing the incumbent Sharad Yadav to quit three months before completion of his term, leaves question mark on the Chief Minister's 'character' to take absolute control of his party," Modi said on the sidelines of 'Janata Durbar' at his official residence.
By occupying two posts simultaneously of both the Chief Minister and party president, Kumar has given two hoots to standard practice of one man one post, Modi alleged.
Apparently referring to tears in the eyes of Sharad Yadav hours ahead of demitting office in favour of Kumar two days ago, Modi, a former deputy chief minister, said that he was sure that Yadav will not keep quiet beyond Rajya Sabha polls in Bihar next month.
Modi also attacked the Grand Alliance government over "deteriorating" law and order situation in Bihar and said that given spate of murders taking place everywhere on daily basis it was obvious to all that the Chief Minister was not in control of state of affairs.
"I wonder how the Bihar Police is going to discharge its twin duties to maintain law and order and enforce prohibition," the senior BJP leader said.
Modi demanded compensation to be given in the event of loss of human lives and property due to fire-related incidents in Bihar due to scorching weather conditions.
