'Micro grid' generally refers to a localised grid system that would supply electricity to a smaller number of consumers, and would help in tapping renewable energy sources including solar.
"We are looking at possible collaboration (with India) in micro grid," Remy Kolessar, Head of Department (Research and Innovation Department) at the Swedish Energy Agency told PTI.
A government agency, the entity focuses on use of renewable energy, improved technologies and smarter end-use of energy, among others.
Speaking on the sidelines of a conference here on 'Building smarter grid to integrate renewable energy sources', he said that India should look at 'bottom up' rather than 'top down' approach to tap more renewable sources.
The development of traditional electricity grids take longer time and there is a need to find newer technological solutions to meet power demands, Kolessar noted.
Currently, about 48 per cent of Sweden's energy supply comes from renewable energy sources.
