Based on a tip-off, a case of disproportionate assets was registered against G Sudhakar Reddy, Assistant Director of the department in Suryapet district and simulatenous searches were conducted at his and his relatives' residences in different parts of the state, an official release said here.
During the searches, it came to light that Reddy had acquired properties in the name of his family members, relatives and benamis that included six open plots, 63 acres of agriculture land, one new house, investment of Rs 82 lakh in a wine shop, bank balance of Rs 12 lakh, insurance policies of Rs 10 lakh, half kg gold, 3.5 kg silver, investments of Rs 30 lakh in two granite factories, one four wheeler and one two-wheeler, it added.
