T'gana to join Centre's UDAY scheme: CM

Telangana would join the Centre's UDAY scheme to help the power distribution companies tide over their losses, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said today.
A release from the Chief Minister's Office said that Rao informed Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal, who called on him, about the decision.
Goyal had urged the Chief Minister that the state join the Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana (UDAY) scheme, it said.
The Union Minister agreed to allocate necessary coal to the power plants in Telangana. The promotion of LED bulbs and other issues were also discussed, the release added.
