Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil today said he has requested Speaker Haribhau Bagde to ensure that a condolence motion for late communist leader Govind Pansare is introduced in the House when budget session begins on March 9.
At the House business advisory Committee meeting last month, our demand for the motion was rejected on the pretext that late Pansare wasn't a member of the legislature, he said.
"In a letter to the Speaker, I pointed out that till December 2014, condolence motions for 60 personalities who were never members of the House were tabled," he said.
The personalities included late Bal Thackeray, Dhirubhai Ambani and Nelson Mandela, he said.
