Tarigami expressed grief over the death of six innocent civilians due to shelling from across the border and exhibited solidarity with the bereaved and displaced families.
"Thousands of families who live in border areas are in a pitiable condition because of the continuous ceasefire violations. People are forced to leave their homes for safer areas in view of the latest round of ceasefire violations in border villages Balakote, Manjakote in Rajouri and Saujiyan in Poonch," he said.
"The incidents of skirmishes and hostilities along the border derail the efforts leading towards formation of better understanding and amity between the two neighbouring countries," he added.
Tarigami said there is a direct fallout of border skirmishes on the people of Jammu and Kashmir who fall prey to the bullets of the guns.
"This situation demands an immediate end and the solution lies in the cessation of hostilities along the border," he said.
