Taylor Swift honoured by 'proud' mom at ACM Awards

Singer Taylor Swift was presented the Milestone award at the 50th Academy of Country Music Awards by her mother, who called the "Blank Space" hitmaker her pride.

Swift, 25, thanked the country music community for respecting the singer's desire to venture into pop music, said The Hollywood Reporter.

"It's my pleasure, my pride and my joy, to introduce my daughter," the mother said, after giving a speech about raising the superstar singer.

"I'm so unbelievably proud that I learnt to treat people with kindness and respect from country music. To the country music community, when I told you that I had made a pop album and that I wanted to go explore other genres, you showed me who you are with the grace that you accepted that with. I will never forget it," Swift said during her speech.
