TCS helps Avis Car Rental & Budget Car Rental for mobile apps

Country's largest software services firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today said it has completed significant enhancements to a series of mobile applications for Avis Car Rental and Budget Car Rental.
The upgraded mobile apps provide customers of the car rental companies with new functionality, including synchronised pricing across channels and insurance options, TCS said in a statement.
The apps also process coupons and account for frequent traveler program surcharges, insurance and other add-ons to help customers understand the total cost of their rental, it added.

Snapdeal enters into hospitality segment * Homegrown online marketplace Snapdeal today announced its entry into the hospitality segment by launching the category of 'Hotel and Catering supplies'.
This latest initiative by the company is aimed at assisting upcoming restaurateurs and individuals and groups who are handling (current or in future) catering businesses, Snapdeal said in a statement.
Consumers can shop for an assortment of products, including baking and pizza supplies, bar accessories, chaffing dishes, heavy gauge cutlery glassware and professional knives among other things, it added.

Micromax launches new 'Roobaroo Unite Anthem' * Homegrown handset maker Micromax today unveiled 'Roobaroo Micromax Unite Anthem' featuring 10 artists, singing one song in nine languages as part of its marketing campaign.
'Roobaroo' is an extension of the Unite 2 campaign, again a first from Micromax offering users 21 languages in 1 phone, thus democratising technology for the masses, Micromax said in a statement.
"The Roobaroo Micromax Unite Anthem celebrates the spirit of unity in diversity bringing alive the versatility of India where myriad cultures merge to form the country's identity," Micromax Chief Marketing Officer Shubhodip Pal said.

Opera Software partners Ncell for foray into Nepal * Announcing its foray into the Nepalese market, online browser Opera Software today said it has joined hands with telecom operator Ncell to boost mobile web services across the country.
With this deal, Ncell will be able to offer a co-branded version of the Opera Mini web browser to its more than 11 million subscribers, Opera said in a statement.
Opera Mini features data-saving technology, which compresses webpages by up to 90 per cent, allowing operators capability to offer a smooth mobile web experience.
